Description
For many years Buffalo Bore customers have asked for a good full power load for the 375 Winchester. However, brass was very hard to come by, but with Starline making high quality 375 Winchester brass, this load finally became reality. The bullet chosen is the Barnes Original 255 grain. This is the same bullet in Buffalo Bore 38-55 ammo, but it is sized to .377 inch diameter in the 38-55, instead of the .375 inch diameter bullet in this 375 Winchester load. This is a tough bullet that will expand but still penetrate deeply enough for use on large critters like elk or interior grizzly.
This 375 Winchester load operates well below the industry spec. of 52,000 CUP and is safe to use in any/all 375 Winchester firearms in normal operating condition. This load mimics the original 250gr. 375 Winchester load at around 1950 fps, but with a better bullet. Designed to the personal specifications of Fred Barnes for his own use on big game, the Barnes Original bullet is made by pressure forming a thick copper jacket around a pure lead core. The Original typically expands to more than 200 percent of its original diameter and retains 70-90 percent of its original bullet weight.
